Padock visit, invited by Virin Racing

We were invited by the Virgin Racing F1 team. After a tour over the paddock (where we had a quick ‘hi there’ with Nick Heidfeld) we went into the pit garage. In the garage Jeff explained several things about the hundereds of sensors present on the car,  being monitored from within the pitbox.

After having a good insight look within the garage, Timo Glock went on track, leaving the garage with his Virgin racecar

Once outside, standing in the pits, cars drove by with a lot of engine noise (or music for that matter)

Then Jeff had a bright idea, lets see a practice start from up close!

Sure enough we would have a little wait, meanwhile Massa was on track, doing 300+ and Hamilton decided to join him, putting up a little soundshow while passing us.

It didn’t take long, the Lotus Renault (with forward exhausts) took a practice start right next to us. WHOAH!!!

And then Buemi did the same in his Toro Rosso

We weren’t allowed to take closeup pictures and shoot video that could be used by other teams, but we did manage to get some nice footage 🙂

Especialy the one where Timo Glock came into the box again, doing a practice stop first, nearly knocking me over 😉
